Pre-K Sound-and-Motion Patterns

Name:
Date:

Today I am practising: copying and extending an AB pattern without printed symbols

1

Copy clap, stomp, clap, stomp.

2

After tap, clap, tap, clap, do the next two motions.

3

Choose a mark for clap and a mark for stomp. Draw clap, stomp, clap, stomp.

4

Find the mistake: clap, stomp, clap, clap. Fix it by doing the right motion.

5

Make a two-motion AB pattern for an adult to copy.

6

Tell an adult which motion comes next and why.

Grown-up guide
  1. Model each motion at a safe, comfortable volume and pace.
  2. Pause after two repeats so the child supplies the continuation instead of merely echoing.
  3. Connect the body pattern to the drawn marks only after the child can perform the repeat.
