Pre-K Build Patterns with Objects

Name:
Date:

Today I am practising: creating an AB pattern with concrete objects

1

Use two blocks. Make block, lid, block, lid. Draw the row.

2

Use two crayons. Lay them red, blue, red, blue. Point while saying the pattern.

3

Build a snack-free pattern with a spoon and a toy car. What comes next?

4

Ask an adult to remove one object. Replace it with the correct kind.

5

Make a four-object AB pattern for an adult to extend.

6

Draw circles and triangles to show the object pattern you built.

Grown-up guide
  1. Offer only non-choking, non-food objects and stay with the learner during setup.
  2. Place the first two objects, then pause so the child supplies the repeat.
  3. Ask the child to touch and name each object while checking the order.
