Pre-K Five-Frame Build

Name:
Date:

Today I am practising: representing quantities 1–5 in a five-frame

1

Build 1 in a five-frame. How many empty spaces remain?

2

Build 2. Touch each filled space and count.

3

Build 3. Draw a circle around the last counter you placed.

4

Build 4. How many spaces are empty?

5

Build 5. What do you notice about the frame?

6

An adult covers some counters in a frame of 5. Count the visible counters and tell how many are hidden.

Grown-up guide
  1. Fill frame spaces from left to right so the layout becomes predictable without replacing counting.
  2. Use buttons, beans, or pencil dots; the materials should be easy to move or erase.
  3. Name filled and empty spaces, but let counting remain the main goal.
