Today I am practising: revising a prediction after observing a result

1

Choose a safe object and predict whether it will roll down a gentle cardboard ramp.

2

Write or dictate a reason for your prediction.

3

With an adult, release the object without pushing. Describe what happened.

4

Was the result the same as your prediction? Point to the observation.

5

Try a second release with the same setup. Did it behave similarly?

6

Write a revised idea about which shapes roll. Keep it limited to what you tested.

Grown-up guide
  1. Choose an unbreakable object and a low ramp on a clear floor.
  2. Release the object the same way on each trial.
  3. Celebrate changing an idea when observations support a revision.
