Pre-K Color-Code an AB Pattern

Name:
Date:

Today I am practising: representing a two-part pattern with consistent colors

1

Color circle, square, circle, square using the two-color key.

2

Make a red-blue-red-blue color strip and point to the matching shape row.

3

Color the next three boxes after red, blue, red, blue.

4

Fix a row colored red, blue, blue, red by recoloring one box.

5

Draw two shapes, make a color key, and color an AB row.

6

Ask an adult to read your color key. Check whether their row matches yours.

Grown-up guide
  1. Use two strongly different crayon colors and name the key before the first row.
  2. Let the child point from each symbol to the key instead of relying on memory.
  3. Check one item at a time; the goal is matching the rule, not coloring speed.
